This journal has mostly blank-lined pages with funny quotes about parenting. There are quotes from famous people about being pregnant, and journaling prompts that ask questions like who was the first person you told that you were pregnant, and what weird food cravings you are having.
There is a place to paste in your sonogram, write in questions you want to ask your doctor, and of course chronicle your thoughts and feelings.
There are also lists with funny tips and advice, like how to hide your pregnancy if you don’t want people to know yet, and lists of items to buy for baby, and how to relax and take care of yourself, and how to create a birth plan. There is even a chapter for the “fourth trimester” when baby is born and it’s the first few weeks of having baby in your arms. This chapter includes journaling prompts about breastfeeding, sleep deprivation, and postpartum depression.
There are cute drawings of moms with big bellies with funny captions. But the illustrations sometimes depict nudity. Not just nude children, but nude mothers who have it all hanging out while they breastfeed with no shirt on at all. I mean, I know it happens (hopefully in private), but is that really the best subject for an illustration in a journal?
I’m going to through the whole book with a Sharpie and censure out the bad words.
